Bloom Actually

Shanhu Lee

The yellow parasol is blown away

by the tornado to the neighbor’s backyard,

Stumbling between fallen boughs

and twigs, when I turned back

In the midst of chaos

When i decided winter will never end

On the hill I saw this redbud blooming,

Like a prayer of the spring

Like the intention I want to write a poem one day,

The intention that keeps me sane.
